Description
Petri Dish Containers for Making Agar – Alternative to Agar Plates 100ml x50
These containers, originally known as dipping sauce containers, are commonly utilized in Mycology for creating agar plates. Instead of using traditional Petri dishes that require sealing with parafilm, you can easily pour agar into these containers and securely close the lid.
Your Purchase Includes:
- 50x Agar Containers (These arrive clean and almost sterile, thanks to the manufacturing process).
What do we use these containers for?
- These are optimally used for germinating spores, isolating genetics, and transferring and cleaning cultures. They are not recommended for long-term storage as they lack air exchange, which is vital for prolonged storage.
When do you recommend using these containers?
- These are particularly beneficial for beginners experiencing contamination issues. Since they do not allow for air exchange, the risk of contamination is significantly reduced. They are also ideal for use when you do not have access to a flow hood or an air still box.
